Barry graduated from Holland College in 1991 and began his career in the Heating Industry with Esso Home Heating in Charlottetown. He received the designation of Red Seal, as a Licensed Heating Technician in 1993. Barry’s passion and dedication to the Island Heating Industry lead to his establishment of B. Walsh Heating Ltd. in 2001.
I started B. Walsh Heating Ltd. at 50 years old. I started the business because there was a void in heating companies in our region. Since inception, we have grown to be the largest privately owned heating company in Eastern PEI.
Through his hard work and commitment to heating customers in central and eastern PEI, Barry has fostered a successful Island Business. During this time, in addition to developing a strong business, he has been an inspiration to others who are considering entrepreneurship, as an encore career. Through his many years of experience in the trade, he has amassed a tremendous knowledge of the service and regulatory side of the Industry. B. Walsh Heating Ltd. continues to be on the leading edge of technology, as it relates to the installation of the most efficient heating equipment.
Barry is a strong advocate for mentorship and allows high school student and trade apprentices shadow him to assist in learning proper procedures, trouble-shooting and efficiency. Barry’s patient, gentle teaching approach encourages a hands-on learning experience.
With a quiet, calm demeanor, Barry displays the epitome of a humble business owner.
