While coaching curling at the highest level for 20 years and working as the Development Coordinator for the Nova Scotia Curling Association I became aware of the need for higher level training opportunities for developmental athletes and teams than what was currently offered. I felt what was missing was the availability of professional, highly qualified coaches and sport science professionals, particularly in geographically remote regions.

At the age of 54 I acted on the “dream” that is Turning Point, and started the business to provide the highest quality instruction using the latest technical equipment and the newest tactical and sport science programming to curlers across the country.

The most rewarding aspect of the work we do at Turning Point, is providing training and instruction to Canadians in some of the most ‘far reaching’ areas of our country. We have traveled to Iqaluit and Rankin Inlet, Nunavut to provide clinics to students in elementary, middle school and high school, as well as to adults who were interested in trying the sport for the first time.

Over the past 4 years we have branched out far beyond Nova Scotia and are providing our services to clubs across Canada and the United States. So far, it has been an incredible experience and with the increased growth and interest in the sport across North America and around the world, I can only imagine how much further we could go!
