Faraj Nakhleh is President of TrakMaps. Faraj has had a rich career at IBM (Information Technology), Xerox (Sales and Management), AES (Management), Comterm where he became President before selling the Company, and RCGT. He participated in several venture investments and M&A totalling over $200M, at RCGT and on his own, as adviser or investor. Faraj acquired TrakMaps in 2008 and proceeded to do a paradigm shift to technology. Today, TrakMaps has GPS maps and charts compatible with the world’s leading GPS manufacturers (Garmin, Navico, Raymarine, Magellan), the only Canadian Company to do so.

I bought TrakMaps in 2008 at age 63 because I wanted to make maps and charts for GPS, a huge opportunity for a maker of printed maps, as well as expand its markets to ROC and the US. We have met success.

TrakMaps designs, develops, produces and markets maps & charts for the outdoors. TrakMaps GPS products (Marine, Hunting, Topo, ATV & Snowmobile Trails are compatible with Garmin, Lowrance, Raymarine and Magellan. Our custom maps (printed & mobile) cover your area of choice.

When Faraj Nakhleh acquired TrakMaps in 2008 at the the age of 63, the Company was in dire need of technology. Maps and charts were printed in regular paper and laminated which was time consuming. We introduced waterproof and tear resistant synthetic paper which greatly enhanced quality and reduced manpower.

Agreements with Garmin, Navico and Raymarine have consolidated our position. To our knowledge, TrakMaps is the only company authorised to develop Marine products compatible with Garmin in Canada. Our compounded growth rate is over 10% over the past 7 years. Our profitability is over 7%.

In 2014, TrakMaps received the Lanaudière Prize (Matawinie) for Innovation.
