Prior to launching Taste Detours, I worked for the Downtown Guelph Business Association mounting food and cultural events, as well as looking after their communications and marketing.

Taste Detours, food tasting & cultural walking tours, was born shortly after I turned 50. It’s the perfect marriage of all the work that I’d done previously and is quintessentially who I am.

Taste Detours mission is to help Guelph businesses prosper by introducing guests to all that they have to offer. I am quite literally feeding them our stories. By sharing the backgrounds of the people, the local flavours, the businesses, the buildings and streetscapes on our walks, I invite visitors and locals alike to gain a bit more insight than can simply be read.

I care deeply about my community, independent businesses, thriving downtowns, walkability, urbanism, history, culture and architecture and, of course, food.
