Marjorie Zingle exemplifies the spirit of entrepreneurship. Marjorie first founded Association Management Centre (AMC). She ran AMC for 20 years, meantime starting and running its offshoot, Convention Management. In her role as owner of Association Management Centre, Marjorie Zingle became very aware of the importance of data management after developing a number of entrepreneurial initiatives for not-for-profit associations. In her efforts to manage and safeguard the overwhelming amounts of data generated by her clients, she forayed into the realm of data centre management. Under Marjorie’s proprietorship, DataHive, a world-class data centre in Calgary, has earned a stellar reputation of reliable, secure and prompt service.
I opened my data centre, DataHive, 14 years ago at age 68. I purchased the assets of a struggling data centre; brought in a knowledgeable IT team to create an innovative approach to meet Alberta’s need for affordable, secure and reliable internet service.
DataHive is utilized by companies from Fortune 500 to small, home-based businesses. We have a history of helping small companies get started. Our range of clientele spans multiple industries, including lawyers, universities, oil companies, software developers, towns, consultants, insurance providers and many more.
A data centre can never rest on its laurels — it must constantly evolve with technology, and try to be proactive in adopting new trends. DataHive has developed continuously since its inception.
Marjorie was a founding member of CAE (Certified Association Executives) and Children’s Safety Village. She has also mentored women who ultimately started their own businesses and assisted in translating their skills for greater success in the technology industry. She has recently been awarded one of the Top Seven over Seventy Awards in Calgary.
