Robert Stinson  – QSBR Innovations

www.qsbri.com

I started by career in sales and marketing of high-tech products in 1978 as a sales representative.  Moving in and out of marketing functions, that included lobbying to government, I finished that segment of my career in the US in 2008 after 30 wonderful years.

Living in a rural location in Eastern Ontario without a network I partnered with my son Ben and Dr. Stephen Harrison the inventor of solar technologies after working with them in the Caribbean. QSBRI was formed in 2012 just after I turned 60. I have always focused on the science and engineering of technologies, looking for simple, usable solutions to reduce fossil fuel use. QSBRI is driven by bringing usable solutions that optimize renewable energy technologies.

I started QSBRI because I believed in renewable energy.

Focusing initially on technology that prevents fouling of heat exchangers in domestic hot water production, we recently restarted marketing our temperature control technology for high temperature hybrid solar collectors. Solar collectors that produce both electrical and thermal energy, PVT.

During these marketing efforts we won a contract to build a solar driven air conditioning system for a government organization in Saudi Arabia. We are off to the Middle East next month to follow up on inquires for renewable energy system design and development.

My partners and I strive daily to use our skills and experience to optimize renewable energy systems from our global business hub in Kingston. We have employed numerous young engineers as interns as well as older engineers, who like young people are challenged to find suitable employment. We continue to work with Queen’s University to support new grads to gain work experience.
